The Habit Of Understanding compiles all Cody's singles, from their early recordings for Shifty Disco and Kooky, through to the three EPs recorded for Shinkansen. Several tracks from Cody's fledgling years make their debut digital appearance here, and all songs have been remastered in 2020. Contains their highly-praised and long-unavailable first single "Simple", the subject of a minor hype storm in 1997, together with a slew of other early songs that saw Cody trying their hardest in proper studios before deciding to do it the hard way in the world of home recording. In retrospect, this was a wise move. Skittering drum machines, throbbing grooves, clangorous guitars and steam-powered synths: a missing chunk of Cody’s history is at last re-released into the wild.
